BRI excited to welcome Augusta van Wijk as Business Development Manager.

Augusta moved to the top of the South in 2000 after 8 years of study, travel and working internationally in the tourism sector. It was her passion for the outdoors, specifically, hiking, sea kayaking and mountain biking that lead Augusta and her partner to the Nelson region.

Having worked as Busisness Development Manager at the Cawthron Institute since 2003 Augusta brings over 15 years’ experience in client relationship and stakeholder management in the science and research sector to BRI.  Her previous roles have had a strong focus on commercial business development and strategic partnering. Augusta’s know-how extends to sales and marketing of commercial research and science services, with a targeted focus on the NZ wine industry.

“I am delighted to have the opportunity to work in the wine sector again, combining my passion for the industry with my experience of working at an independent research organisation that has a strong focus on delivering pragmatic science and commercial services to industry” said Augusta.

Augusta will join the team at BRI in early February and will divide her time between Nelson and Blenheim.
