Work on the BRI research winery is on track for launch on February 27th.
Over the next few weeks, the final touches will be made to the winery, office and conference room fit-out. The first delivery of tanks will arrive on site early next week to complete the plant commissioning.
The BRI Research Winery team are in the process of preparing for vintage trials. There has been considerable interest from both industry and researchers in the research winery facilities, with the winery now nearing capacity for the coming vintage. Vintage 2020 trials will be carried out in collaboration with Plant and Food Research (PFR) and Nelson Marlborough Institute of Technology (NMIT).
“The entire project team have worked tirelessly to ensure we are up-and-running for vintage, and it’s fantastic to see both industry and researchers embracing this facility and everything it has to offer” says Tracy Benge who has managed this project for the last two years.
The official opening will take place on the grounds of Marlborough Research Centre to celebrate completion of the build and the beginning of harvest 2020. BRI is looking forward to having the opportunity to honour our project partners and sponsors.
