Bragato Research Institute (BRI) is delighted to announce that it has secured its first commercial sponsor after completion of the bespoke research winery, joining founding sponsors Crown Sheetmetal and Vinwizard. Hill Laboratories has signed on for five years as the naming rights sponsor for the basket press, one of several innovative pieces of new equipment being readied for the 2021 harvest. Like many items in the winery, the press is on wheels. This allows for maximum options for use with minimum hoses, amongst the custom-made 200 litre tanks.
“Responding to industry needs is the core of what we do here,” says CEO MJ Loza. “In turn, it’s great to have industry supporting us and to be able to offer opportunities for sponsors. We’re delighted to have Hill Laboratories join forces with us.”
“With the NZ viticulture and wine industries going from strength to strength, Hill Laboratories is looking forward to supporting these industries in the years to come, via our laboratories in Blenheim and Hamilton,” says Hill Laboratories CEO Dr Jonathan Hill.
MJ Loza helps Hill Laboratories’ Vanessa Burrows attach the sponsor’s placard to the basket press.
BRI opened its research winery in February this year. The winery enables BRI and industry to trial new technology and innovation, as well as look at the impact of vineyard trials on finished wines, ensuring the New Zealand wine industry is at the cutting edge of modern grape growing and winemaking. Industry support is an important part of BRI’s business model and demonstrates that the government investment in the winery is fully supported by industry and suppliers.
BRI has a portfolio of sponsorship opportunities available. Hills Laboratories has selected to be a ‘Silver Sponsor’. In addition to being recognized on the press itself, the company’s logo will join a select few on the sponsors’ board at the main entrance.
The pandemic has forced constraints on wine industry events and smaller local events are proving popular as they do not require travel and are easier to manage in terms of numbers and risk. BRI’s boardroom, adjacent to the research winery, has become a popular venue for such events.
BRI’s sponsors have a profile at these events which helps ensure ongoing visibility to industry. This is an effective option especially now, as many large tradeshows and conferences have been cancelled.
Hill Laboratories is New Zealand’s largest privately owned analytical testing laboratory and has led the way in analytical testing for many years. The company has an extensive range of tests, using the latest technology and methods, backed by dedicated client services managers. Hill Laboratories makes a difference for customers by helping them increase their productivity, ensure safety, minimise environmental impact, meet regulatory requirements and support their communities’ well-being.
