BRI was proud to host the Fermentis Academy at the Bragato Research Winery on Friday 11 November.

The Fermentis Academy sessions aim to give theoretical and practical information to implement in the winery, as well as share results obtained in the field, all around the broad and ever-expanding world of fermentation.

The speakers included Fermentis Director of Sales Jo Pitt, Technical Manager & Oenologist Dr Arnaud Delaherche, and our very own Dr Tanya Rutan – Research Winery Manager.

The subjects covered throughout the day included Fermentis’ Development of New Yeast Strains using Hybridisation Techniques, Yeast and Thiol Aroma Expression in Wine Under Different Fermentation Conditions, Optimal Nutrition for Fermentation, and The Efficacy of Antioxidants in Sauvignon Blanc.

Several tastings were held in conjunction with speakers’ presentations and those in attendance enjoyed the day with a networking lunch and further refreshments afterwards.

We would like to thank everyone who came along, especially our speakers and hosts from Fermentis – who we also thank for their continued support and sponsorship of our Research Winery as our Gold Sponsor. We look forward to more events like this in the future and encourage anyone involved in the winemaking field to come along.
