Bragato Research Institute would like to thank the Cresswell Jackson New Zealand Wine Trust for its donation of $14,800 towards industry research.

The Cresswell Jackson New Zealand Wine Trust (CJNZW) was established in 2011 to provide funding for the professional enhancement and continued success of the New Zealand wine industry. It was set up by the directors of Wine Competition Ltd to receive proceeds from auctioning unopened bottles of wine not required during the judging of their two wine shows – the Spiegelau International Wine Competition and the Marlborough Wine Show.

The CJNZW Trust was established with two main objectives:

  • To provide funding for educational purposes for the advancement of knowledge within the New Zealand wine industry.
  • To provide funding for research projects that advance the knowledge within the New Zealand wine industry including oenological and viticultural practices, quality improvements, sales and marketing, technological, or legal initiatives.

The trust has provided grants to many researchers over the past ten years.

The trust wound up earlier this year and donated the final amount to Bragato Research Institute.

Like any profits raised through our commercial services, this donation will go towards research and innovation that enables the New Zealand wine industry to thrive.
