Fermentis sponsorship shows support for world-class research facilities in NZ

BRI is delighted to announce that fermentation expert and yeast supplier Fermentis has signed on as a Gold sponsor of the research winery, giving it naming rights to the boardroom.

Fermentis is a commercial client of BRI’s, being quick to utilize the research winery for yeast trials during the facility’s first vintage in 2020

“When the sponsorship opportunity became available, we were happy to show our support for BRI in this way. Fermentis undertakes research in many countries. The equipment and expertise housed here gave us bespoke solutions of international standard,” said Selena Henshall, Communications Manager, Asia Pacific. Fermentis is undertaking trials in the winery again this vintage.

“We are delighted to have the support of Fermentis as a gold sponsor. Sponsorship contributions are an important revenue stream for the winery, enabling us to continue work to benefit the industry,” says BRI’s chief executive MJ Loza.

The Research Winery boardroom has become a focal point for the industry and has hosted events as diverse as the Organic Winegrowers New Zealand AGM, an awards ceremony, industry consultation and training workshops, Wine and Spirit Education Trust seminars, as well as board meetings for New Zealand Winegrowers and BRI. The room itself has one wall completely in glass, making it spacious and light, with a view into the working winery. Its detailed high wooden ceiling is a feature of the building, which has been nominated for awards for both design and construction.

Ms Henshall says Fermentis works with almost everyone in the world of wine, beer, spirits and other fermented beverages. “We have a range of products and services which covers almost all professional requirements from safeguarding production to expressing sensory characteristics.”
