The Research area of the NZW members’ portal contains hundreds of resources for growers and winemakers, from Fact Sheets to video presentations, to research reports from Bragato Research Institute’s varied programmes. A major overhaul of how these materials are grouped has been undertaken and a new, more ‘Google-like’ search function has been added to make all items more accessible for members.

Logged-in NZW members are able to search by keyword, and results are grouped and displayed by topic, type of document, published date, and author. The search will adjust for misspellings and learn members most frequent search phrases.

The search function is quite intuitive, but here’s a step-by-step guide to show some of its features.

Once you’re logged in…

Hover your mouse over the Research heading tab so the subheadings are displayed

Let’s use the phrase Trunk Disease as an example…

If you’ve clicked Search, all results will be displayed…

Once you’ve clicked on the headline of the item you want…

If you use the Side panel, you can filter by type of document, topic, author, or publication date.

For example, this filter will find all NZ Winegrower magazine Research Supplement articles on Grapevine Trunk Disease…

The Search function will ‘learn’ over time which items are most frequently accessed by members and present these at the top of the list.

The new Research Library is a significant investment in making the extensive resources developed over many years more accessible to members.
